The Price of a Piece of Chocolate

This is the story of the childhood of well-known flamenco singer, Antonio de la Malena, who grew up during the Franco years in the midst of great poverty.  There were satisfying moments in his life, but there was never enough food in the house and the opportunities for his future were extremely limited.

Even his childhood pleasures began to disappear when he was required to change schools and was placed in a class with a teacher who can only be described as sadistic.  Dropping out of school, he found himself at age 13 thrust into an adult world, working 14-15 hours a day, seven days a week.  His only real consolation became the singing that he loved so much.

Co-produced and co-directed by Eve A. Ma and Antonio de la Malena (who also co-authored the script), we're filming this in HD (high defnition) in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
